Other formulations contain varying levels of caffeine, including VPX Redline, RTD, Xtreme, Redline Liquid Caps, Meltdown, and more. The original 8-oz bottle contains 250-mg of caffeine, making it one of the most highly-caffeinated energy drinks on the market. Redline is marketed as a fat-burning stimulant drink for bodybuilders. In addition to high amounts of caffeine, lawsuits claim Redline also contains yohimbe, a stimulant that can cause panic attacks and hallucinations, and vinpocetine, a plant extract that can cause nausea and anxiety. The problem with Redline is that it contains caffeine-containing ingredients that are not separately listed, such as yerba mate. The American Academy of Pediatrics has warned that “caffeine and other stimulant substances contained in energy drinks have no place in the diets of children and adolescents.”
